This summer, my family’s National Park adventure was split up into 3 parts: Visiting National Parks in Southern California, a Family reunion near San Francisco, and visiting National Parks in Northern California. In the 16 days, we saw so many amazing sites from the largest tree on Earth, to the most notorious prison. In all, we visited 10 National Park units!

Before we get into the itinerary I want to share with you the video I produced of our California State National Park Adventure.

Learn more about this video, “Walking With Giants”, in my post here.

As with all my itineraries, this is a fairly lengthy post so before we get started I wanted to say a few things to note.

1. You could spend full days into weeks at each of these National Parks. See why my family is crazy about National Parks here.

2. My family is not a camping family but if that’s your deal, you could save a lot of money by doing that instead.

3. I like to detail out itineraries. It makes me happy. The process of planning out every detail makes me happy. That being said, I build in lots of slush time in case things take longer than planned (and they always do).

4. We didn’t visit Yosemite National Park because we have already visited it! Read about it here!

Ok. The road was only one lane heading to the entrance and the Visitor Center was not staffed.
2:00: Drive 2.5 hours to Sausalito, CA

#hikeNg down to the beautiful lighthouse at Point Reyes National Seashore: our family's 84th National Park unit visited and today's self-portrait // #findyourpark #nps101 #selfie #pointreyes

A post shared by Gregory Ng (@followgreg) on Jul 7, 2017 at 11:44am PDT

Thursday July 6th – Saturday July 8th
We spent the next 3 days at a family reunion near Point Reyes National Seashore.
– Bear Valley Visitor Center
– The Lighthouse Visitor Center
– Kule Loklo Village
– Earthquake Trail
Note: The lighthouse is a strenuous hike and it’s well worth it. It was a short 1/4 mile up the road from the Visitor Center and we managed to catch a Ranger tour which was worth the effort!

Even baby Redwoods need love and attention! #hugaredwood #redlioneureka #hikeNg #redwoods #redwoodsnationalpark #nobearstoday #nps #nationalpark #findyourpark

A post shared by Heather Ng (@heddur) on Jul 12, 2017 at 6:54pm PDT

A Vacation We’ll Never Forget!

We had a fantastic time in California!
