Front Steps Project

Many of you know that I spend my free time dabbling in sports photography. One of the things I enjoy most is capturing the comradery of teams and the emotion of togetherness on the field.

With the current situation, sports (along with everything else) have been put on hold. But the beauty of togetherness is still there. It exists within our family units dealing with the unknown at home.

I recently caught on to an amazing photographer from Needham, MA, Cara Soulia, with an amazing idea to do family portraits from their front steps of their home. Make sure to follow Cara on Instagram too. So I am going to join the movement and do it here in Cary, NC.

Starting today, I am offering to take five minute “Front Steps Portraits” of residents in the Triangle of NC.  After your quick photo session, I will email you the digital file of your portrait. In exchange, I am asking you to make a good faith donation to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.  Financial donations really do make a huge difference in the food bank’s ability to meet increasing demand. See below chart:

>>> Please donate to the Food Bank here: http://secure.foodbankcenc.org/goto/frontstepsproject <<<

I will be posting these images on Instagram using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject , #frontstepsprojectcary, and #frontstepsprojecttriangle.  Please share these posts.

Taken from Cara’s page: “Let’s spread the word! The purpose of this project is to bring us together when we might feel isolated.  I aim to highlight the faces of our community during a time when we might not see them in passing at the grocery store, coffee shop, on the train or at the gym.  Participating in this project is also an opportunity to step up to help those who need it most right now.”

Details:

I will take an image outside only and from 10 feet away. We can wave our hellos and goodbyes. Our session will be brief, likely just 5 minutes. And I will share my digital file with you later that day via email and then share on Instagram.

I will be only available sporadically during the day and in the early evenings and weekends (I have a day job, after all). Once I receive your sign up I will coordinate a time that works best!
