Today I’m kicking off a new series on my blog. It’s called Wish I/Glad I. Here’s how it works: Every week I will throw out a theme and will answer something I’m glad I did in regards to the theme and something I wish I did in regards to the theme. Then, you answer for yourself in the comments section. To kick this off with a bang, I’m going to give away a free $25 iTunes Gift Card to one of the commenters of this post.
This week’s “Wish I/Glad I” theme is: Concerts
List in the comments section a music artist or band that you wish you saw in concert and one that you are glad you saw. I’ll start:
I wish I saw Jeff Buckley in concert
I had a chance to see Jeff Buckley in concert when I was in college in 1994. I bought a ticket and I owned his brilliant album “Grace” and recognized it’s brilliance. But I just wasn’t feeling it that night and decided to not go to the concert. That would have been a great concert. A couple of years later he died 🙁
I’m glad I saw the Grateful Dead in concert
I have never been a fan of the Grateful Dead but I recognized their place in Rock N Roll history and I wanted to see them in concert. In 1995 I saw them at the Philadelphia Spectrum. I found the setlist online and apparently it was “the greatest show in the history of man!!” I honestly couldn’t tell you. I could barely see the stage it was so smoky and I didn’t recognize that many songs. I also smelled like pot (obviously) and for a non-pothead that isn’t fun. Still, I am glad I saw them before Jerry Garcia died 6 months later.
